Services
AppointmentsAppointments are allotted 30 to 60 minutes depending on the complexity of your pet's problem. Our trained and knowledgeable reception staff will be able to determine the amount of time necessary for your appointment. Unlike many veterinary hospitals, which offer 15-20 minute appointments, City Veterinary Care provides extended appointments because we know that consistently good care cannot be given under rushed conditions.

Preventative CareJust like people, dogs and cats benefit from annual check-ups. During an annual check-up, your dog or cat will be critically examined in an attempt to find problems in their early stages. Any issues can then be addressed before they cause illness. During these appointments, we will also determine whether vaccinations will be necessary, recommend preventative measures against fleas and ticks, demonstrate preventative home dental care techniques and discuss proper nutrition.
|
Vaccines & MonitoringWe are knowledgeable about current research proving that many vaccinations are not necessary on a yearly basis. For dogs and cats moving into their senior years, we often recommend comprehensive blood testing so that we can learn how internal organs are functioning and intervene on pending illnesses. In addition, we are strong advocates for performing abdominal ultrasound imaging on an affordable, wellness basis in older pets for early, and life saving, cancer detection.

DentistryWe provide the most comprehensive dental care available in private practice. We have digital x-ray technology, state-of-the-art dental prophylaxis equipment and we use only the best dental health materials. A technician anesthetist administers anesthesia while the veterinarian provides the dental services.

24-Hour Nursing CareShould your pet require hospitalization, we provide 24 hour nursing care so he or she is never unattended. We make sure that your pet is as comfortable as possible. Cages are kept immaculate, each dog and cat rests on a plush fleece or towel, and dogs visit our enclosed yard to safely use the bathroom. Our nursing staff is gentle, caring, and treats each dog and cat as if they were their own.

Specialty CareWe have a board-certified cardiologist who comes to our hospital twice a week to perform echocardiograms.
Dr. Jane Kosovsky provides advanced surgical services for both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. Consultations or surgery can be arranged as needed. |
State of the Art EquipmentWe have both digital x-rays and digital dental x-rays as well as all the state of the art anesthetic monitoring equipment for ECG, blood pressure, oxygen and carbon dioxide.
We offer abdominal ultrasound, endoscopy, rhinoscopy and bronchoscopy on the premises as well. |
BoardingBecause we are a busy veterinary hospital, we are usually unable to accommodate boarding. Exceptions are made for those patients who have medical problems which require regular medication and/or close observation. Several of our staff members make themselves available for house-sitting and home visits to administer medication. This gives you the comfort of knowing that your pet is being cared for by someone linked to his or her doctor should the need for veterinary care arise.
