Dr. Marissa Monopoli |
Dr. Marissa Monopoli grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where her path to veterinary medicine was carved at a young age as a volunteer marine mammal rehabilitator. She studied Zoology and Italian at The Ohio State University, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then returned to California to complete her studies at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, where she was president of the Student Veterinary Emergency Response Team. She graduated with honors, and published multiple research studies pertaining to avian medicine. After veterinary school, Dr. Monopoli completed a one-year rotating internship in general medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. Dr. Monopoli’s particular interests include radiology, ophthalmology, and wellness. She recently moved to Brooklyn, where she lives with her blind cat, Stevie. In her free time, you can find Dr. Monopoli roller skating, practicing yoga, cooking, and exploring the city.
